What You’ll Do
- Perform routine automotive maintenance tasks, including all aspects of vehicle repair and maintenance.
- Diagnose and repair vehicle issues, such as engine problems, electrical malfunctions, and brake system failures.
- Conduct thorough inspections of vehicles to identify any potential issues or safety concerns.
- Use diagnostic tools and equipment to accurately diagnose and troubleshoot vehicle faults.
- Complete repairs efficiently and effectively, ensuring the highest level of quality workmanship.
- Keep accurate documentation of all maintenance performed on vehicles.
- Communicate effectively with supervisor regarding vehicle’s condition and recommended repairs.
- Stay up to date with the latest automotive technology, industry trends and training.
- Maintain organized and safe work environment,
including daily shop and tool maintenance.
- Work as a team and independently to successfully complete work tasks.
- Adhere and support all safety requirements and quality standards set forth in the PEI Occupational Health and Safety General Regulations, PEI Occupational Health and Safety Act and BJ’s Truck Centre Safety Management System.
- Use your experience to identify health and safety deficiencies and support Management in implementing solutions OR report to Management when required.
- Perform all other duties as required.
What You Bring
- Must be a second or third-year apprentice, or hold a valid Red Seal certification.
- Strong knowledge of automotive systems, including engines, transmissions, brakes, electrical systems, and HVAC systems.
- Proficient in using diagnostic tools and equipment to identify and resolve vehicle issues.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Valid drivers license and own transportation.
Pay: $30.00-$40.00 per hour
