Help Build Community Through Local Food.

The Shuswap Food Action Society (SFAS) is seeking an enthusiastic, organized, and community-minded Downtown Farmers Market Manager to lead one of Salmon Arm's most valued community programs.

Operating year-round, the Downtown Farmers Market brings together local farmers, food producers, artisans, musicians, volunteers, and thousands of visitors. More than a place to shop, the market is a vibrant gathering space that supports local agriculture, strengthens the regional economy, and strengthens community connections.

If you enjoy building relationships, solving problems, organizing events, and creating welcoming community spaces, we'd love to hear from you.

About the Role

The Downtown Farmers Market Manager is responsible for the successful planning, coordination, and day-to-day operation of the Downtown Farmers Market throughout the year. Working closely with vendors, volunteers, staff, community partners, and the Executive Director, you'll help ensure the market continues to thrive as one of the Shuswap's premier community events.

This is a part-time salaried position with compensation of $2,000 per month, averaging approximately 20 hours per week over the course of the year.

Work hours vary seasonally, with additional hours during the busy summer market and fewer during the winter months. The monthly salary reflects these seasonal fluctuations.

Administrative work is completed remotely, while attendance at the Saturday market is required year-round. Occasional weekday, evening, or special event work may also be required.
