Express Employment Professionals is recruiting a Field Service Technician for one of our valued clients in Dartmouth, NS. This is an excellent opportunity for a mechanically inclined individual who enjoys hands-on work, troubleshooting equipment, and providing exceptional customer service. While experience with generator systems is an asset, comprehensive technical training is provided for candidates with the right mechanical background and willingness to learn.

Responsibilities

- Perform preventive maintenance, emergency service, repairs, and troubleshooting on generator systems.
- Test, measure, and verify the operation of electrical components and systems.
- Program, test, and commission transfer switches.
- Program, test, and troubleshoot generator sets and synchronizing control systems.
- Perform equipment startups and load bank testing.
- Diagnose and repair diesel and natural gas-powered generators.
- Complete service reports and equipment performance documentation.
- Maintain company tools, equipment, and service parts inventory.
- Build strong relationships with customers through professional communication.
- Work independently while communicating regularly with the Service Supervisor.

Qualifications

- Minimum 3 years of experience in a mechanical, electrical, or power generation service role.
- Experience with generators, heavy equipment, marine equipment, diesel engines, motors, or similar mechanical equipment is highly preferred.
- Power Generation Diploma, Licensed Electrician, or Certified Mechanic is considered an asset.
- Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills.
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Outlook.
- Excellent communication, customer service, and time management skills.
- Self-motivated, dependable, and eager to learn new skills.




- Ability to work independently and take initiative.

Working Conditions

- Regular schedule: Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM.
- Participation in a rotational on-call schedule is required.
- Overtime opportunities available.
- Heavy lifting and physically demanding work are required.
- Travel throughout Nova Scotia is required.
- Occasional travel to the United States for manufacturer training may be required.
- Must be available to respond during power outages or declared emergencies when required.
