Site Superintendent – Tenant Improvement Project

Position Summary

ICE Group of Companies is seeking an experienced Site Superintendent to oversee a tenant improvement project in Sooke, BC. Projected start date: August 17th, 2026

This project involves the renovation and expansion of an operating business and will be completed over approximately 10 weeks. The successful candidate must be comfortable coordinating construction activities in an active commercial environment while minimizing disruption to ongoing business operations.

The project schedule will include approximately two weeks of night shifts at the beginning of the project and an additional two weeks of night shifts near completion. Night-shift hours will generally be 9:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m.

Key Responsibilities

- Oversee daily construction activities and ensure work is completed safely, efficiently, and according to schedule.
- Coordinate with project managers, subcontractors, consultants, clients, and other stakeholders.
- Supervise site personnel and monitor subcontractor performance.
- Maintain project quality standards and ensure compliance with drawings, specifications, and contractual requirements.
- Review blueprints, schematics, construction plans, and project documentation.
- Monitor project progress, identify potential delays, and implement corrective measures.




- Prepare regular progress reports and communicate site updates to project stakeholders.
- Assist with budgeting, scheduling, procurement, and resource allocation.
- Coordinate construction activities around the operations of an active business.
- Enforce company safety policies, regulatory requirements, and site-specific safety procedures.
- Promote a professional, organized, and safety-focused work environment.

Qualifications

- Proven experience supervising commercial construction, renovation, or tenant improvement projects.
- Previous experience completing projects within an operating or open-business environment.
- Availability and willingness to work the required night shifts.
- Strong knowledge of construction methods, sequencing, quality control, and safety requirements.
- Demonstrated experience managing project schedules, budgets, subcontractors, and site resources.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, specifications, schematics, and construction documents.
- Familiarity with construction management software such as Sage or a comparable platform.
- Solid leadership, communication, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to maintain effective relationships with clients, trades, consultants, and project teams.
