Fire Alarm and Sprinkler Inspection Technician
Epic Fire Protection is seeking an experienced and dependable Fire Alarm and Sprinkler Inspection Technician to join our growing service team.
This position is ideal for a versatile technician with experience inspecting and testing both fire alarm and sprinkler systems. The successful candidate will complete scheduled inspections, identify deficiencies, prepare accurate reports, and assist with minor service and repair work at commercial, industrial, residential, and high-rise properties throughout the GTA.
Responsibilities
- Perform monthly, annual, and scheduled inspections of fire alarm and sprinkler systems
- Test fire alarm panels, initiating devices, notification appliances, supervisory devices, and related equipment
- Inspect sprinkler valves, waterflow switches, tamper switches, fire pumps, standpipe systems, sprinkler heads, and associated equipment
- Identify and clearly document system deficiencies
- Complete electronic inspection reports, work orders, and daily job notes
- Assist with troubleshooting, minor repairs, and service work when required
- Coordinate testing with monitoring stations, property representatives, and building management
- Communicate inspection results and recommendations professionally
- Maintain company tools, testing equipment, materials, and service vehicles
- Follow all company safety policies and applicable regulations
- Participate in the after-hours on-call rotation when required
Experience
- Previous experience inspecting fire alarm and sprinkler systems
- Strong knowledge of fire protection inspection and testing procedures
- Familiarity with applicable Ontario codes, ULC standards,
and NFPA requirements
- Experience working in commercial, industrial, residential, or high-rise buildings
- Ability to read drawings, inspection reports, and system documentation
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Comfortable completing electronic reports and work orders
- Valid Ontario driver’s licence with a clean driving record
- Able to work independently and as part of a team
- Able to lift equipment, climb ladders, and work in mechanical rooms and active job-site environments
Preferred Qualifications
- CFAA certification or current progress toward certification
- Sprinkler and fire protection installer experience
- Experience with fire pumps, standpipe systems, backflow preventers, and special suppression systems
- Experience working with multiple fire alarm panel manufacturers
- Working at Heights, WHMIS, and other relevant safety certifications
- Experience completing ULC-compliant inspections and testing

Pay: $35.00-$50.00 per hour
