Western Fine Meat is a federally approved meat processing facility located in Claresholm, AB, dedicated to high standards of quality, food safety, and operational efficiency. We are seeking a skilled, detail-oriented Journeyman Electrician to join our facility maintenance team.

In this role, you will oversee, install, troubleshoot, and maintain the electrical systems, machinery controls, automated lines, and industrial equipment across our production environment to support smooth daily operations and minimize plant downtime.

Key Responsibilities

- Troubleshoot, repair, and perform preventative maintenance on industrial equipment, motor controls, PLCs, conveyors, and processing machinery.
- Inspect, test, and repair electrical circuits, power distribution systems, lighting, and HVAC/refrigeration power connections.
- Read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, and technical diagrams.
- Ensure all electrical work meets the Canadian Electrical Code (CEC) and occupational health and safety standards.
- Respond promptly to equipment breakdowns to minimize production downtime.
- Maintain accurate maintenance logs and records of electrical work performed.
- Collaborate with production operators, maintenance technicians,



and plant management.

Qualifications & Requirements

- Certification: Valid Red Seal or Alberta Journeyman Electrician Certificate required.
- Experience: Minimum 3–5 years of industrial electrician experience (experience in food processing, manufacturing, or commercial refrigeration environments is a strong asset).
- Strong knowledge of industrial automation, PLCs, variable frequency drives (VFDs), and motor controls.
- Proficient in reading blueprints, single-line diagrams, and ladder logic schematics.
- High regard for food safety, sanitation standards, and Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS).
- Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs, stand for long periods, and work in varied temperature environments (coolers/freezers when required).
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
