Service Electrician – Commercial Tenant Improvements Service

Location: Greater Vancouver, BC (Primarily Downtown Vancouver)

Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced Service Electrician to join our growing team specializing in commercial tenant improvements, service work, lighting and lighting controls upgrades, and building maintenance throughout Downtown Vancouver. The successful candidate will have a solid understanding of commercial building systems, lighting, and lighting controls.

This role requires a professional, customer-focused electrician who can work independently, troubleshoot efficiently, and maintain strong relationships with property managers, building operators, consultants, and end users.

Key Responsibilities

This role is a hybrid role and mix of office and field responsibilities.

Perform troubleshooting, and install assistance in commercial office TIs and some new builds.

Troubleshoot and repair lighting, emergency lighting, and exit signage.

Design, commission, and troubleshoot lighting control systems including occupancy sensors, daylight harvesting controls, time scheduling systems, and networked lighting controls.

Coordinate work with property managers, building operators, tenants, and general contractors.

Interpret electrical drawings, specifications, and building standards.

Conduct site investigations and provide recommendations for repairs and upgrades to lighting and controls systems.

Complete service reports, deficiency reports, and project documentation accurately and professionally.

Ensure all work complies with the Canadian Electrical Code, WorkSafeBC requirements, and site-specific safety procedures.

Support estimating and project management teams by identifying opportunities and providing field input.

Required Qualifications

Red Seal Journeyperson Electrician certification.

Minimum 5 years of commercial electrical experience.

Strong experience in Downtown Vancouver commercial buildings, office towers, retail spaces, and tenant improvement projects.





Proven troubleshooting and service experience with commercial electrical systems.

Experience working with lighting and lighting control systems.

Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, specifications, and control schematics.

Valid BC Driver’s License with a clean driving record.

Strong communication and customer service skills.

Ability to work independently and manage multiple service calls and project priorities.

Preferred Experience

Experience with one or more of the following systems is considered an asset:

Lutron lighting controls

nLight lighting controls

Wattstopper controls

Leviton controls

Building Automation System (BAS) integration

Emergency lighting inverter systems

Commercial office fit-outs and corporate TI projects

Downtown Vancouver Class A office towers
