Position Title: Capital Campaign Manager/Consultant (Contract)

Organization: Children's Safety Village of Belleville

Location: Belleville, Ontario (Hybrid/Flexible)

Hours: 20 hours per week

Compensation: $30.00 per hour (starting wage)

Term: Contract position based on the timeline and completion of the Children's Safety Village

Capital Campaign.

Tentative Start Date: Sept 7 2026

About the Children's Safety Village

The Children's Safety Village of Belleville is a registered charity dedicated to providing hands-on

safety education that empowers children, youth, adults, and seniors to make safe choices and

prevent injuries. As the only Safety Village serving Eastern Ontario, we welcome more than

1,500 participants annually through engaging, curriculum-connected programs delivered in

partnership with first responders, educators, and community organizations.

The Children's Safety Village is embarking on an exciting multi-million-dollar Capital Campaign

to relocate and build a new, year-round Community Safety Village at Hillcrest Park in Belleville.

This transformational project will expand programming, increase accessibility, and create a

regional hub for safety education for generations to come.

Position Summary

The Capital Campaign Manager will lead the day-to-day coordination and implementation of

the Children's Safety Village Capital Campaign. Reporting to the Executive Director and working

closely with the Capital Campaign Committee, Board of Directors, volunteers, donors, and

community partners, the successful candidate will help build momentum, secure major gifts,

coordinate campaign activities, and ensure the campaign reaches its fundraising goals.

This position is ideal for an experienced fundraising skilled who has previously

participated in or managed a successful capital campaign.

Key Responsibilities

Capital Campaign Leadership

- Coordinate and implement all aspects of the Capital Campaign.
- Work alongside the Executive Director and Campaign Cabinet to achieve campaign

goals.

- Develop campaign strategies, timelines, and donor engagement plans.
- Monitor campaign progress and prepare regular reports.





Committee Development

- Recruit, support, and mentor Capital Campaign Committee members.
- Train committee members on:

❖ Major gift solicitation

❖ Donor stewardship

❖ Community engagement

❖ Relationship building

❖ Campaign messaging

❖ Making donor asks with confidence

- Develop fundraising materials and talking points for volunteers.

Donor Cultivation

- Identify and research prospective major donors.
- Assist in preparing proposals, presentations, and campaign packages.
- Coordinate donor meetings and follow-up.
- Support gift recognition and stewardship activities.

Community Advocacy

- Serve as an ambassador for the Children's Safety Village – including but not limited to

Chamber events, community events

- Build relationships with community leaders, businesses, foundations, and service clubs.
- Promote the vision of the new Community Safety Village.
- Represent the organization at campaign events and public presentations.

Campaign Administration

- Maintain donor records and campaign tracking systems.
- Coordinate campaign events and recognition opportunities.
- Assist with grant opportunities related to capital funding.
- Prepare reports for the Board of Directors and Campaign Committee.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess:

Required

- Experience working on at least one successful capital campaign.
- Minimum 3–5 years of fundraising or development experience.
- Proven experience soliciting and securing major gifts.
- Experience training volunteers or campaign committees.
- Excellent public speaking and presentation skills.
- Strong written communication and proposal-writing abilities.
- Exceptional relationship-building skills.




- Ability to work independently while collaborating with volunteers and staff.
- Valid Ontario driver's licence and reliable transportation.

Preferred

- Certified Fund Raising Executive (CFRE) designation or working toward certification.
- Experience in the charitable or nonprofit sector.
- Knowledge of donor management software/CRMs.
- Experience working with Boards of Directors and volunteer committees.

- Coordinate donor meetings and campaign activities.
- Help secure leadership gifts and sponsorships.
- Increase community awareness and engagement around the new Community Safety

Village.

- Keep the campaign on schedule toward its fundraising milestones.
