Digital Print Operator – Winnipeg, MB

Login POD, a division of Login Canada, one of Canada's leading book distributors, is growing and looking for energetic, creative, detail oriented, dedicated, and self-motivated individuals to join our Print On Demand (POD) team. Login has been shipping books coast to coast for over 30 years. We are known for the great relationships we build with clients and employees alike. The Position:

The successful candidate will be able to work as part of a team as well as handle individual tasks. Experience in a digital print/book binding setting is preferential. Tasks will include training on the operation of printers, Laminator, Binder, and Cutting machines.

Responsibilities and Duties

The successful candidate will be responsible for (not limited to):

· Using computers and systems to review and process print work orders, data entry, and processing information

· Planning, prioritizing, organizing print runs, including determining correct inputs and loading materials/supplies into equipment

· Tracking and recording all fixed and variable inputs (toner, paper, etc.) for each work order

· Monitoring and efficiently controlling resources/inputs (Inventory management, order supplies)

· Testing and trouble-shooting print runs to completion (visual-colors, trim, pages #’s, readability)

· Quality control of inputs (toner, paper, etc.) visually identify differences,



or detect changes within each print run and take corrective action

· Providing advice, and effectively communicating to management or other groups on technical, systems, or process related topics for improvements

· Regular preventative maintenance such as cleaning and lubricating production equipment and daily cleaning of shop area

· Performing day-to-day administrative tasks

. Shift work required between 6:30 a.m and 8:00 p.m.

Preferred Qualifications

· Experience using RICOH printers is considered an asset (training will be provided)

· Mechanical aptitude

· Excellent time-management and organizational skills, pro-active, flexible, open to new processes

· Team player with strong verbal and written communication skills

· High degree of accuracy, attention to detail, and the ability to distinguish between colors (no color blindness)

· Full mobility to handle climbing, lifting, balancing and handling heavy materials/inputs as required
