We are looking for a Line Technician to join our team. The successful candidate will have expert knowledge of instrumentation, a willingness to learn new skills and some experience with pc software. We are seeking someone who is a team player and has solid communication skills, as well as being comfortable working with a wide variety of people.

Work dates will vary and are on demand based on client needs. Worker must be available when required; no on call requirement.

Qualified applicants shall be able to produce valid safety certificates for:

- Valid Driver’s License
- Basic Line Locate Tech Level 1 & Competency Assessment - Utility Safety Partners or equivalent
- Standard First Aid Level C/CPR/AED
- WHMIS 2015
- H2S Alive
- Ground Disturbance Level 2 (ABCGA)
- Common Safety Orientation
- Any other training is considered an asset

Job Requirements

- High School Diploma or GED; Post-Secondary education an asset
- 1-2 years of line locating experience; willing to train
- 1-2 years of oil and gas industry experience
- Must have excellent communication and organizational skills
- Computer skills required for report creation, Alberta One Call and email communications

Required to work long hours conducing the following tasks:

- must be able to work seven days a week, including holidays if required
- must be able to work various shifts




- required to be able to lift more than 50 lbs
- required to work in all weather conditions
- must be able to walk on even/uneven ground, up and down hills for up to 8 hours in a day; must be physically fit
- may walk on slippery or uneven surfaces
- may be exposed to dust and dirt
- may be exposed to noise <85 dba
- computer/administrative work up to 15% of assigned duties

Responsibilities

- organize and implement client information for requested line locate
- plan and schedule line locate for specified time period
- facilitate identifying utility pathways, using utility maps as a guide
- confirm that the locations marked on the maps are accurate
- use electronic sensors to pinpoint the precise location of underground utilities
- physically locate all buried utilities with the required flags
- operate off highway utility vehicle on pipeline ROW
- prepare reports, daily bills and invoicing, and communication with clients
- Take on other roles within the company when needed.

Must be willing to work away from home.

Pay: $36.00-$40.00 per hour
