Primary Role

The Grinder-Finisher is responsible for grinding, deburring, polishing, and smoothing welded steel or aluminum assemblies and parts to ensure compliance with design specifications and customer requirements. This role requires attention to detail, adherence to safety protocols, and collaboration with other team members to maintain high-quality production standards.

Key Responsibilities

- Follow all safety work rules and guidelines due to exposure to sharp edges, rotating tools, grinding disks, fumes, glare and dust.
- Stand, walk, and use hands to operate tools while reaching for objects as required.
- Work in an environment with exposure to fumes, glare, and dust.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, ensuring proper handling of production equipment.
- Read and interpret designer drawings.
- Operate hand and power tools, including files, angle grinders, DA sanders, and cut-off wheels.
- Possess basic computer knowledge.
- Properly use and maintain downdraft tables and power tools, including startup/shutdown procedures and inspection records.
- Ensure quality standards are met for all components.
- Meet production expectations.
- Communicate with the supervisor regarding part status and potential delays affecting deadlines and quality.
- Report safety concerns to the appropriate personnel.

Qualifications

Skilled trades experience preferred.

Education/Experience

- Minimum Grade 12 education.
- Minimum 2 years of relevant industry experience

- Basic technical skills in operating hand tools,



assembly processes, and measuring equipment.
- Positive verbal and written communication skills.
- Basic problem-solving abilities.
- Basic interpersonal skills.
