About Ryuko

Ryuko Beltline is a Japanese-inspired restaurant and bar located in Calgary’s Beltline neighbourhood. We serve thoughtfully prepared food, craft cocktails, and provide a welcoming dining experience for our guests.

We are looking for an Assistant General Manager to support the General Manager with daily operations, team leadership, and guest service. This is a hands-on role for someone who enjoys working on the floor and helping a restaurant team perform at its best.

Responsibilities

- Support the General Manager with daily restaurant operations and service execution.
- Lead and support the front-of-house team during regular and peak service periods.
- Train, coach, and provide constructive feedback to team members.
- Maintain consistent standards for guest service, cleanliness, and restaurant presentation.
- Welcome guests, respond to feedback, and resolve service concerns professionally.
- Complete cash handling, till reconciliations, POS reporting, and secure drops accurately.
- Work with the kitchen and bar teams to follow applicable health, safety, and liquor regulations.




- Assist with private dining, special events, and busy weekend services.
- Help maintain a respectful, inclusive, and professional workplace.
- Communicate operational updates clearly to the General Manager and team.

Qualifications

- Previous supervisory or leadership experience in a restaurant, bar, lounge, or hospitality environment.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
- Experience with POS systems and cash handling procedures.
- Ability to stay organized and make sound decisions during busy service periods.
- Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Ability to work professionally with guests, team members, and management.
- Hospitality experience is preferred, but candidates with relevant leadership or customer service experience are welcome to apply.

Pay: $50,000.00-$65,000.00 per year
