We are seeking an enthusiastic and collaborative Recreation Leader II to support children's programs and special events within this dynamic environment.

The qualifications required for success as a Recreation Leader II include:

- Successful completion of Grade 12 education and minimum six (6) months of British Columbia Recreation and Parks Association (BCRPA) coures or related post-secondary courses in recreation;
- Minimum of one (1) year of directly related experience working with children in a recreational facility, including experience supervising staff and volunteers;
- Experience coaching or instructing children and the ability to instruct some programs as needed;
- Good organizational skills and the ability to multi-task in a busy environment
- Strong team-building,



leadership, customer service and communication skills;
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Perfect Mind registration systems as well as facility booking software; and
- Valid BC Class 5 driver’s license - unrestricted.

Reporting to the Recreation Coordinator, the Recreation Leader II is responsible for the following:

- Support Recreation Programmers with implementation of programs;
- Participate in the planning and execution of special events;
- Supervise instructors and recreation staff to ensure programs and services are delivered effectively;
- Address and resolve parent concerns in a timely, professional, and effective manner;
- Assist with the purchasing and organization of program equipment and supplies;
- Provide leadership and direction to recreation staff during special events;
- Coordinate and schedule substitute instructors when regular staff are unavailable, or assume responsibility for leading classes as required to ensure uninterrupted program delivery; and
- Contribute to a positive, safe, and engaging environment for participants, staff, and the public.
