RISE Support Staff Kindergarten Program

Position: RISE Support Staff Kindergarten Room (Set term)

Position Summary
Little Einsteins Education Centre is seeking a compassionate, patient, and dedicated RISE Support Staff member to join our Kindergarten program. Working alongside our Registered Early Childhood Educators (RECEs), the successful candidate will provide individualized support to children requiring additional assistance to ensure they can actively participate in the classroom environment. The RISE Support Staff member will promote inclusion, foster independence, and support children's social, emotional, physical, and cognitive development in accordance with the Child Care and Early Years Act (CCEYA) and How Does Learning Happen?.

Key Responsibilities

- Provide one-to-one and small group support to children with diverse developmental, behavioural, communication, and learning needs.
- Work collaboratively with RECEs to implement individualized goals, strategies, and accommodations.
- Support children in daily routines, transitions, self-help skills, and classroom activities.
- Encourage positive peer interactions and promote inclusive play experiences.
- Implement behaviour guidance strategies that are consistent with the centre's policies and the child's support plan.
- Observe, document, and communicate children's progress with the classroom team and Supervisor.
- Assist with classroom programming while ensuring the supported child remains fully included in all activities.
- Support children during indoor and outdoor play, meals, rest periods, and toileting routines as required.
- Maintain confidentiality regarding children and families at all times.
- Follow all health and safety procedures, emergency policies, and licensing requirements.




- Participate in meetings, professional development, and training opportunities.
- Communicate respectfully and professionally with families, educators, consultants, and community partners.

Qualifications

- Experience supporting children with diverse learning or developmental needs is preferred.
- Knowledge of inclusive practices and child development.
- Experience working in a licensed child care or kindergarten setting is considered an asset.
- Current Standard First Aid and CPR-C certification.
- Current Vulnerable Sector Check.
- Strong communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
- Physically able to meet the demands of working in an early learning environment.

Working Relationships
The RISE Support Staff member reports to the Centre Supervisor and works closely with Registered Early Childhood Educators, families, and external support professionals to ensure children receive consistent, high-quality support within the kindergarten classroom.
