Express Employment is currently seeking Irrigation Service Technicians with a minimum of 2 years experience to assist our client located in the southeast with the seasonal maintenance and repair of large-scale Commercial Irrigation Systems (Athletic Parks, Recent Developments, Storm Water Pump Stations) within the City of Calgary and surrounding areas.
Responsibilities include:
- Upgrade your residential irrigation experience into a commercial irrigation career.
- Troubleshooting wiring/electrical/hydraulic/mechanical problems
- Set, adjust and straighten sprinklers
- Repairing PVC/HDPE Line Breaks
- Identifying and repairing/replacing defective system components
- Fusing 2” – 12” Pipe
- Spring Start up and Winterization
- Operating Equipment including ¾-1 ton trucks with trailer
- Excavation/Trenching/Demolition
- Reading “as-built” Drawings, making corrections if necessary
- Low voltage wiring to system controllers
- Working independently and as a Team
Experience
- Proven experience in irrigation system installation, maintenance, or repair within landscaping or commercial environments.
- Familiarity with construction practices related to landscape projects is highly desirable.
- Mechanical knowledge related to plumbing, piping, valves, and sprinkler components.
- Hands-on experience using hand tools such as wrenches, screwdrivers, pliers, as well as power tools like drills and saws.
- Background in gardening or horticulture supporting landscape health and plant care.
- Prior experience operating excavation equipment such as excavators is advantageous but not mandatory.
- Strong understanding of landscape maintenance principles combined with technical troubleshooting skills.
