Full-time, on-site, one day optional WFH, downtown Toronto.
An established downtown Toronto financial services firm is hiring a Systems and Network Administrator for a two-person IT team supporting fewer than 100 users across Toronto, Montreal, and the United States. You will report to the IT Director and own day-to-day infrastructure in a regulated, externally examined environment. You need to work independently and finish what you start.
What you will do:
- Administer Windows Server and Active Directory (accounts, group policy, DNS, DHCP, file services).
- Maintain firewalls, switching, Wi-Fi, site-to-site and remote-access VPN, and multi-factor authentication across three sites.
- Administer Linux servers running internal platforms such as ticketing, monitoring, and authentication services.
- Operate backups, patching, endpoint protection, and monitoring, and test restores.
- Support virtualization hosts, network storage, workstations, and core business applications alongside third-party vendors.
- Resolve user tickets, keep documentation and asset records current, and follow written change control.
What you need:
- Three or more years of hands-on Windows Server and Active Directory administration.
- Practical networking: TCP/IP, VLANs, DNS, routing, and firewall rule administration on managed firewalls.
- Direct experience configuring VPN and multi-factor authentication.
- Comfort administering Linux servers from the command line.
- Backup and virtualization experience, including restore testing.
- On-site availability Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM, with occasional after-hours work. Optional one day Work From Home (WFH).
- Legal entitlement to work in Canada.
Considered an asset: experience in a regulated or audited environment, SonicWall firewalls, RADIUS or TOTP authentication, SIEM or log management tooling, PowerShell or Python scripting, Microsoft or security certifications, working French.
Process:
- This posting closes on August 16th.
- Screening interview up to 30 minutes by Zoom, followed by an optional deeper technical interview and a final interview on fit and communication.
- Employment is conditional on satisfactory background checks. Accommodation is available on request at any stage of the process.
Pay: $80,000.00-$95,000.00 per year
Advantages:
