Position Overview

We are seeking experienced Network Cable Installation Technicians specializing in structured cabling, cable pulling, and cable fishing for commercial, industrial, and institutional projects throughout Ontario. Candidates must demonstrate a strong commitment to quality workmanship, job site safety, and compliance with recognized telecommunications and construction industry best practices.

This role is ideal for professionals with experience installing low-voltage infrastructure in commercial construction and renovation environments.

Key Responsibilities

- Install, pull, and fish Cat5e, Cat6, Cat6A, fiber optic, coaxial, and other low-voltage cabling.
- Route cable through conduit, cable tray, J-hooks, ceilings, walls, risers, and underground pathways.
- Maintain proper cable support, bend radius, separation, labeling, and cable management using industry best practices.
- Read construction drawings, floor plans, and cable schedules.
- Assist with cable termination, testing, troubleshooting, and certification as required.
- Work safely in commercial construction, renovation, and occupied facilities.
- Maintain accurate documentation and ensure installations meet client specifications.
- Follow all company safety policies and provincial regulations.

Required Qualifications

- Minimum 2 years of structured cabling or low-voltage installation experience.
- Experience with commercial network cabling installations.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to lift 50 lbs (23 kg), work on ladders, lifts, and in ceiling spaces.




- Valid Ontario G Driver's Licence with reliable transportation.
- Ability to travel to various job sites.

Required Certifications (Ontario)

Applicants must possess, or be willing to obtain, the following certifications:

- Ontario Working at Heights (WAH)
- Fall Arrest Certification
- WHMIS 2015
- Worker Health & Safety Awareness in 4 Steps (Ontario)
- Scissor Lift / Elevated Work Platform (EWP) Certification
- Boom Lift Certification (asset)
- First Aid & CPR Level C (asset)
- BICSI Installer Certification (preferred)
- Experience with Fluke Cable Testing and Certification (asset)
- Clean Criminal Record Check may be required for secure facilities.

Industry Knowledge

Experience with the following is considered an asset:

- Structured cabling installation
- Fiber optic installation and testing
- Commercial construction practices
- Data centre installations
- Access control, CCTV, and telecommunications infrastructure
