Medical Office Assistant/Medical Receptionist

Consider joining our team if you are an experienced MOA/Medical Receptionist and you are looking for a Full time position. We are looking for someone who has immediate availability. We are looking for a candidate who will be also be able to cover when others are sick and on vacation. The person who takes this position must be committed to "keeping the clinic running" acting as a patient coordinator, touching all aspects of the patient’s care in the clinic.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

POSITION DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES:

Your position may include, but are not limited to:

- Receiving, greeting patients warmly, responding to patient general inquiries and concerns, interacting in a supportive and informative manner.
- Schedule and booking appointments accurately using electronic scheduling systems. Reminding, following up, providing appointment reminder and confirmation calls to patients as required in a qualified and positive manner.
- Handle multi-line phone systems with professional phone etiquette; respond promptly to patient inquiries and direct calls appropriately relaying and documenting the correct messages to appropriate individuals as required.
- Updating and maintaining patient charts in the Clinic EMR. Conduct intake procedures for new patients assisting them with completing necessary forms and documentation. Managing patient records by updating, validating and maintaining patient information in electronic health records in accordance with health information management standards and ensuring compliance with HIPAA (the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act)



privacy standards during all documentation review and data handling processes while maintaining high levels of accuracy in documentation review and medical coding.
- Day-to-day administrative tasks which include: receiving, sorting incoming packages and mail, scanning and linking patient documents in the EMR, photocopying and faxing documents to the appropriate receiver.
- Escort patients to consulting rooms, chaperoning the physicians and assisting them with patient care. Respecting and maintaining privacy and dignity of patients and assuring patient confidentiality at all times.
- Keeping a clean and calm reception and work area
- Cleaning patient rooms while maintaining sufficient stock of office and clinical supplies in examination rooms which mandates very strict standards and guidelines that must be met adhering to and maintaining Infection Prevention & Control (IPC) protocols .
- Collect payment for uninsured services via point-of-sale terminal and Completing appropriate medical billing for patients using Telus Med Access EMR software
- Booking appointments for Diagnostic imaging for patients (i.e. ultrasound, mammogram, etc.)

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $16.00-$18.00 per hour
