Next Level Directional Drilling Inc. specializes in underground telecommunication work, with emphasis on precision, safety, and efficiency. We are looking for a reliable and hardworking Purchasing and Inventory Coordinator to support our operations. This role is essential in ensuring materials, tools, and equipment are ordered and inventory is maintained. This is a hands-on role for someone who enjoys solving problems, staying organized, and taking ownership of purchasing and inventory systems.
Responsibilities
- Purchase materials, tools, equipment, and supplies from local vendors and online suppliers.
- Research products and suppliers to identify cost-effective solutions while maintaining quality and operational requirements.
- Obtain pricing, compare vendor options, and negotiate when appropriate to ensure the best value.
- Track purchase orders, receipts, invoices, deliveries, and outstanding orders using spreadsheets and internal tracking systems.
- Maintain organized purchasing records and supporting documentation.
- Coordinate pickups and deliveries of materials, equipment, and supplies.
- Maintain accurate inventory levels for tools, materials, PPE, and consumables.
- Monitor inventory usage, investigate discrepancies, and help identify excessive consumption or preventable losses.
- Assist with assigning, tracking, and maintaining company assets and equipment.
- Keep vehicles, job sites, and field crews stocked with required materials, water, PPE, and supplies.
- Assist with monitoring departmental purchasing and inventory spending.
- Support operational improvements by developing and maintaining organized tracking systems and processes.
What We’re Looking For
- Valid Ontario Class G Driver's Licence with a clean driving record is required.
- Strong computer skills,
including Microsoft Excel and digital tracking systems.
- Exceptional organizational skills and strong attention to detail.
- Comfortable managing multiple priorities while maintaining accuracy.
- Ability to learn and maintain detailed inventory and purchasing records.
- Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to finding practical, cost-effective solutions.
- Able to work independently while communicating effectively with field crews, vendors, and management.
- Experience in purchasing, inventory control, logistics, construction, or a related field is considered an asset.
- Basic knowledge of construction materials, tools, or equipment is an asset.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
