Position Summary
Reporting to the Western Regional Manager, the Ramp Attendant/Groomer is responsible for the safe movement of baggage and cargo to and from the aircraft as well as for the general maintenance of the hangar and office facilities. They may also be responsible to ensure that the aircraft inside and outside is clean and presentable for the customers’ next flight.

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities
- Sort,
load and unload baggage, freight and equipment
- Provide courteous, prompt, accurate and careful handling of customer baggage, airfreight (continuous lifting, loading/unloading, sorting and transfer of baggage and freight)
- Marshall aircraft, drive and fuel equipment, de-ice aircraft, install and uninstall aircraft seats and equipment, service aircraft lavatories, ensure that airside areas are organized and clean
- General cleaning of Company facilities and equipment as required by each base, including interim vacuuming of aircraft as required
- General pick-up and delivery duties in the company vehicle may be required
- Clean aircraft by performing the following functions:
- Vacuum aircraft, change seat cushion covers and carpets, wash windows, test air vents and reading lights and report malfunctions to Maintenance dept
- Ensure that supplies are in back seat pockets, inspect seats for proper operations
- Wash and polish outside of aircraft depending on local environment and weather
- Clean the cockpit area including pilot’s windows
- Report all aircraft irregularities to the Maintenance dept.
- Secure aircraft at end of each load/unload or shift ensuring that all doors and access points are closed and secure. Be vigilant against any unusual activities and suspicious persons and report any and all suspicious activity to the Airport manager’s office
- Maintain a safe and healthy work environment by consistently following all rules, regulations and prescribed work methods and, where necessary,
report all unsafe or unhealthy conditions to a Supervisor or Health and Safety Committee Representative
- Actively participate in the Company’s Safety Management System
- Perform additional duties as assigned
Minimum Education, Experience and Certifications
- High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED) equivalent
- Must be able to obtain and maintain any applicable transportation security clearances and additional authorizations
- Must possess a valid driver’s licence
- Must possess a valid forklift licence or have completed applicable training
- Previous warehouse/ramp experience considered an asset
- Previous aviation operation experience considered an asset
- Indigenous and Cultural Awareness Training considered an asset
Working Conditions
- Physically able to perform all listed job duties
- Travel by aircraft and other means as required by role
- Work in a shop environment with full range of movement including, but not limited to, bending, sitting, standing, lifting to a maximum of 50lbs, pushing and pulling daily
- Work performed both indoors and outdoors; employee must be able to adapt to all outdoor weather conditions
