Duties

- Safely operate commercial trucks to deliver goods to designated locations, adhering to all traffic laws and safety regulations
- Perform thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure vehicle safety and compliance
- Load and unload cargo with care, utilizing heavy lifting techniques when necessary to handle freight securely
- Plan efficient routes to optimize delivery times and fuel usage
- Maintain accurate delivery logs, driver logs, and shipment documentation
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers and clients regarding delivery schedules or any issues encountered during transit




- Conduct routine maintenance checks and report any mechanical issues promptly to keep trucks in top condition

Skills

- Proven experience driving heavy vehicles with a strong understanding of road safety protocols
- 3 plus years of variable commercial driving experience
- Clean criminal code of conduct
- Clean driving abstract
- Excellent navigation skills with the ability to plan routes effectively
- Strong attention to detail for record keeping and compliance documentation
- Valuable communication skills for coordinating with team members and clients
- Physical stamina and endurance to handle long hours on the road
