Description:

ATCO Frontec is seeking a Temporary Red Seal Journeyman Carpenter to join our team in Grise Fiord, NU. The Red Seal Journeyman Carpenter is responsible for construction, repairs, restores, and installs structural wood/steel work and related materials.

Working 10 hour shifts, with all travel, meals and accommodations provided. The wage is $40/hour

This position is required from July 31 - October 30.

Responsibilities:

- Repair and maintain doors, floors, windows, partitions, ceilings, and exteriors of buildings; builds and installs door and window framing
- Build wooden/steel structures such as partitions, building, office additions, does sheeting and rough carpentry on the buildings as well as final finishes
- Perform hand and bench work in carpentry work shop; operate planers, joiners, drill presses, power saws, sanders, and other woodworking machinery
- Repair and maintain hand tools, saws, and other carpentry tools; installs locks, door knobs, and other building hardware
- Repair and maintain doors, floors, windows, partitions, ceilings,



and exteriors of buildings; build and install door and window framing
- Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

- Interprovincial Red Seal Certificate in Carpentry is required
- Must be able to pass a pre-employment alcohol & drug test and fit-to-work medical test
- Class 5 license and clean drivers abstract is required
- Minimum of 3 years of experience, specifically in building maintenance
- Good mechanical skills and understanding of building components and equipment
- Good communication, customer service and teamwork skills
