Service Department Manager - Antigonish, NS

Our client is looking for a Service Manager to join their branch team in Kentville, NS. This organization operates a multi-location dealership network across the Maritime region and is recognized as one of Canada’s Best Managed Companies for 2024/2025.

In this role, you will be responsible for leading and coordinating the service department within a busy branch environment. The Service Manager plays a key role in ensuring smooth day-to-day operations, maintaining high levels of customer satisfaction, and supporting overall team performance.

Responsibilities

- Promote and maintain a safe working environment while ensuring solid customer satisfaction
- Communicate expectations clearly, monitor performance, and coach team members to achieve results
- Ensure all manufacturer warranty processes and procedures are followed correctly
- Use business systems to create, manage, and track work and repair orders
- Serve as the primary point of contact for customers and internal sales teams regarding service scheduling, quotes, and job status updates
- Develop staff schedules, determine staffing needs, and assign work based on priority and skill level
- Monitor departmental performance, including efficiency metrics, budgets,



and expenses
- Participate in recruiting, hiring, and training initiatives for service department staff

Qualifications

- 3+ years of experience in a leadership or supervisory role (ex. Shop Foreman, Lead Hand, Service Supervisor)
- Strong computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office and related tools
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Experience with service department financials with the ability to interpret operational reports
- Experience in the agricultural, heavy equipment, or related industry is considered an asset
- Strong organizational and problem solving skills
