Job Summary

We are currently seeking a reliable and motivated Sawyer to join our client's manufacturing team in Colborne, ON. The successful candidate will be responsible for operating automated cutting equipment, interpreting production drawings, and ensuring accurate cutting of lumber components while maintaining high quality and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities

- Read and interpret production drawings, cut lists, and specifications.
- Verify the required wood type, dimensions, and tolerances before production.
- Set up, program, and calibrate automated saw equipment according to production requirements.
- Select appropriate cutting patterns to maximize material yield and minimize waste.
- Inspect machine readiness, including alignment, blade condition, and overall functionality before operation.
- Feed lumber into the saw and monitor the automated cutting process.
- Ensure all cuts meet required measurements, angles, and quality specifications.
- Perform quality inspections on finished components.
- Conduct routine machine cleaning, inspections, and minor maintenance.
- Report worn blades, damaged equipment, or maintenance issues promptly.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.




- Meet daily and weekly production targets while maintaining quality standards.
- Follow all workplace health and safety policies and procedures.
- Assist with other production and warehouse duties as required.

Qualifications

- Ability to lift up to 30 lbs.
- Experience operating power tools is considered an asset.
- Knowledge of rough framing, lumber, or the construction industry is an asset but not required.
- Solid attention to detail with the ability to perform repetitive tasks accurately.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Good organizational and time management skills.
- Strong commitment to workplace safety.
- Fluent in English (spoken and written).

Pay: $20.00 per hour

Experience:

- Sawyer/ Production Worker: 1 year (required)
- Hand & Power tools: 1 year (required)
- Read and interpret production drawings, cut lists: 1 year (required)
- Program and calibrate the Cybersaw based on drawings: 1 year (required)

Licence/Certification:

- Driving Licence (preferred)
