PURPOSE OF THE POSITION

The purpose of the Welder position is to ensure that jobs are completed to the satisfaction of the customer in a timely fashion. Welders will be expected to fabricate and modify parts, maintain machines, apply knowledge of shop mathematics, metal properties, layout, and welding procedures.

SCOPE

The Welder position reports to the shop Foreman and is expected to consult with the foreman and management on techniques used for welding.

RESPONSIBILITIES

· Clean tools and equipment check for defects, maintain/repair as required

· Measuring/ marking

· Following Blue Prints/drawings/work orders

· General Welding

· Grinding

· Carbiding

· Shop clean up

· Document job labor and materials/supplies used

· Have basic required measuring + hand tools to perform job

· Safe operation of lifting equipment

· Follow all safety procedures/precautions

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE/SKILL





· Mechanical aptitude

· Ability to read and follow blueprints

· Ability to work with little direction or supervision

· Advanced knowledge of shop mathematics

· Have the ability to work non-traditional hours, including evenings and weekends

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

Journeyman certification or registered trades apprentice

PERSONAL PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT REQUIRED

· Steel-toed boots

· Safety glasses

· Other work-order specific PPE

· Welding Helmet

Job Types: Full time, Permanent

Pay: $25.00-$40.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
