As a member of the interdisciplinary team, and under the general direction of the Manager, the primary goal will be to restore, maintain and enhance the recovery of people seeking help for addiction and / or addiction related issues by implementing various modalities or addiction recovery programs. Responsibilities include providing informational programming as well as individual and group counseling sessions with clients. This position will be expected to assess individual and group needs of clients and implement plans to help clients reach their goals.

Knowledge and Abilities

- Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing
- Knowledge in Transtheoretical model of change
- Knowledge in best practices in addictions and harm reduction strategies
- Ability to make appropriate referrals
- Knowledge in addictions screening, assessment tools and procedures
- "Ability to work independently to plan and prioritize workload demands. "
- Knowledge in development model of recovery (SMRS)
- Ability to accurately assess addiction(s) and make appropriate recovery plans.
- Demonstrates knowledge of a Holistic Addiction Treatment Model
- Works independently, effectively and cooperatively with a multidisciplinary team
- Knowledge in group dynamics
- Demonstrates knowledge in addiction(s) and their effects on family units
- Ability to screen for addictions and/or addiction related symptoms
- Knowledge of community resources in the addictions field.
- Ability to deliver workshops and lecture material to clients and community
