Responsibilities Advise on IP rights: Counsel on patents, trademarks, copyrights, and trade secrets.

File and prosecute applications: Prepare and file patent and trademark applications, and navigate examination processes.

Manage IP portfolios: Oversee the institution's intellectual property assets and enforce rights by monitoring for infringement and litigating when necessary.

Defend against infringement claims: Represent the organization when accused of infringing others' rights.

Negotiate agreements: Draft and negotiate licensing, assignment, and confidentiality agreements.

Conduct IP audits: Identify protectable innovations and ensure compliance.

Provide strategic advice: Guide commercialization strategies and advise on IP-related business decisions.

Qualifications Juris Doctor (JD) and admission to practice law.

Experience in intellectual property law and technology licensing.
