Role Description The Analytical Chemist will work full time in office in Solaris Chem’s laboratory in Vaudreuil-Dorion, QC. In this role, the individual will perform routine and advanced chemical analyses on organic semiconductors, fullerenes, and related materials using a range of analytical techniques and instruments including HPLC, GPC/SEC, NMR, UV-VIS-NIR, FTIR, Fluorescence, TGA, AA. Daily tasks include preparing samples, following maintenance/calibration schedules, running tests, interpreting data, and documenting results to support R&D; projects and ensure product quality.
The Analytical
Chemist will collaborate with research scientists and production teams to optimize methods, troubleshoot analytical issues, and contribute to continuous improvement of laboratory practices.
Responsibilities also include adhering to safety protocols, maintaining laboratory equipment, and supporting scale-up from development to manufacturing.
Qualifications
Candidates should possess strong Laboratory Skills and proficiency with Laboratory Equipment relevant to analytical and organic materials testing.
Candidates should possess robust Analytical Skills for data interpretation, method development, and problem-solving in complex chemical systems.
Candidates should possess Quality Control skills for validating results, ensuring consistency, and complying with internal and external standards.
Candidates should possess Research and Development (R&D;) skills to support new material development, experimental design, and process optimization.
Relevant qualifications include a degree in Analytical Chemistry, Materials Science, or a related field (Technician or higher) and familiarity with organic semiconductors or polymer chemistry.
Additional beneficial qualifications include knowledge of GLP or GMP principles, strong documentation and communication skills, ability to work safely in a laboratory environment, and experience in industrial or academic research settings.
