Join our dynamic team as an Apprentice Heavy Duty (HD) Mechanic and kickstart your career in the heavy machinery and equipment maintenance industry! This apprenticeship offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience working with a wide variety of heavy equipment, including excavators, cranes, forklifts, and farm machinery. Under the guidance of experienced technicians, you will develop essential mechanical skills, learn to interpret schematics, and perform maintenance and repairs on diverse industrial equipment.

Duties

- Assist senior mechanics with routine inspections, troubleshooting, and repairs on heavy equipment such as heavy trucks, trailers , equipment & machinery
- Support the disassembly and assembly of machinery components following technical schematics and manuals
- Conduct basic maintenance tasks including fluid checks, filter replacements, and electrical system inspections
- Help maintain a clean and organized work environment to ensure safety standards are met at all times
- Gain exposure to electrical systems, hydraulic systems, and engine diagnostics to develop comprehensive mechanical knowledge
- Complete PM Maintenance on/off site
- Ability to operate a Service truck
- CVIP Inspection license preferred , Ability to complete CVIP inspection and repairs





Skills

- Strong interest in heavy machinery , truck, and trailer an asset
- Basic mechanical knowledge with an eagerness to learn more advanced repair techniques
- Familiarity with hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and schematics is a plus
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and operate heavy equipment under supervision
- Valuable communication skills for effective teamwork and customer service interactions
- Prior dealership or industrial equipment experience is advantageous but not required
- Willingness to follow safety procedures diligently and continuously improve technical skills
- Ability to work evenings/weekends/
- Drivers license with clean abstract req
- Ability to be safety compliant,work independently,prioritize urgent repairs with proper communictaion, meet deadlines in a timely manner.
- Strong experience with on highway/air brake sytems/electrical/cat /cummins/detroit, nut not limited to
- Strong experience with off highway heavy equipment, but not limited to
- Maintain clear/accurate work orders paperwork for on/off site as req
