As part of our family-owned operation, you'll help cultivate top quality cut flowers including lisianthus, gerberas and snapdragons.
In this role, you'll work closely with our experienced growers, ensuring top-notch productivity and quality in every bloom. We provide comprehensive on-the-job training to set you up for success. Recent or upcoming horticulture graduates welcome to apply.
Your responsibilities will include supervising and coordinating crop harvesting and processing, monitoring crop health, implementing pest control measures, and maintaining optimal growing conditions. Skills/Abilities Required:
- Up to 1 year of experience in greenhouse operations, preferably with a focus on cut flowers.
- Possession of a license to apply chemical fertilizers, fungicides, herbicides, and pesticides is advantageous.
- Familiarity with Argus/Priva computer environment control systems is considered an asset.
- Physically fit for regular greenhouse activities, including standing, walking, lifting, bending, and enduring prolonged periods of heat and humidity.
- Proficient verbal and written communication skills in English; proficiency in Spanish is an asset.
- Demonstrated ability to assume leadership roles, exhibit personal initiative, and maintain attention to detail.
- Competence in operating various equipment on a daily basis.
- Versatile availability, with work hours ranging from 8 to 12 hours per day.
- Willingness to work rotating weekends as required.
