At TESC, our Estimating team plays a critical role in delivering accurate, competitive, and well-structured bids that set our projects up for success. We are currently seeking an Associate Estimator to support bid development and build foundational estimating experience across industrial construction projects. What You’ll Do Complete quantity take-offs from drawings, specifications, and tender documents
Gather pricing from suppliers and subcontractors
Prepare cost estimates for materials, labour, and equipment
Support the development of detailed estimates for tender submissions
Maintain and update cost databases and historical data
Participate in pre-tender meetings and bid reviews
Assist in preparing final estimate summaries and submission packages
Collaborate with estimators, project teams, and support departments to ensure accuracy What You Bring Post-secondary education in construction, engineering, or a related field
0–3 years of relevant experience (estimating or construction experience is an asset)
Ability to read and understand construction drawings and specifications
Strong attention to detail and ability to work under deadlines
Proficiency in Excel; familiarity with estimating tools is an asset
Strong communication and organizational skills
Knowledge in one of the following disciplines:
Civil: earthworks, excavation, concrete, drainage; interpreting civil drawings/specs; quantities, equipment, and productivity assumptions.
Structural: structural steel and/or concrete; reading structural drawings/details; fabrication/erection sequencing; labour/equipment take-offs and pricing.
Mechanical:
mechanical systems/equipment installation; interpreting drawings/specs; install methods and coordination; labour/material pricing and constructability considerations.
Piping: isometrics, piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs;), specs; fabrication vs field install, testing; weld counts, supports, labour/productivity, and congestion impacts.
Electrical & Instrumentation: cable and tray/conduit, terminations, devices/loops; interpreting drawings/schematics; installation/testing/commissioning allowances.
Knowledge in multiple disciplines is considered an asset
