Ronin Psychotherapy is growing, and we are looking for an experienced therapist to join our Hamilton practice.

We are looking for more than someone to fill available clinical hours. We want a therapist whose approach to the work aligns with what Ronin represents: resilience and adaptability, integrity and self-discipline, and purpose and meaning.

Our clients are often navigating anxiety, burnout, relationship difficulties, career and life transitions, grief, intimacy, family conflict, and larger questions about identity, direction and meaning. Many are professionals, parents, leaders and couples who may be functioning well on the surface while recognizing that something in their lives or relationships needs to change.

Who We're Looking For:

We are particularly interested in an experienced, registered clinician who has developed a strong therapeutic identity and is comfortable working beyond a strictly manualized approach.

You should be able to build strong therapeutic relationships, develop thoughtful case conceptualizations, work with complexity and ambiguity, and respectfully challenge clients when the work calls for it.

Experience with adults and couples/relationships is strongly preferred.

Clinical backgrounds may include EFT/EFIT, ACT, CBT, DBT-informed therapy, psychodynamic, attachment-based, existential/humanistic, narrative, trauma-informed, mindfulness-based, couples or family systems approaches.

We value therapists who are grounded, curious, relational and reflective, and who recognize that good therapy involves more than applying techniques.

Meaningful professional and life experience outside the therapy room is also valued. Leadership, business, healthcare, education, entrepreneurship, parenting, career transitions and other lived experiences can all contribute to the perspective you bring to clients.

Qualifications Applicants should be registered and in good standing with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario (CRPO) or hold another Ontario-regulated designation appropriate for the independent provision of psychotherapy.

Applicants should also have appropriate professional liability insurance, strong clinical judgment and professional boundaries, and experience providing psychotherapy to adults.

Couples/relationship therapy experience and advanced training in areas such as EFT, attachment, sexuality, trauma, grief or existential therapy are assets.

About the Role

This is a part-time independent contractor position, initially approximately 8–12 clinical hours per week, with the opportunity to grow.

Ronin provides practice infrastructure including office space, virtual care capability, Jane practice management and online booking, website/marketing presence and practice-generated referrals.

Associates may also have opportunities to contribute to future groups, workshops, writing, programming and other areas of interest as Ronin grows.
