JAutomation Technician — Calgary

Lynx Brand Fence Products has been a leader in the fence and automated gate industry since 1974. We're looking for an experienced, skilled Automation Technician to join our growing Calgary team — someone who's passionate about gate automation technology and takes pride in doing the job right, from first estimate to final install and everything after.

This role covers the full lifecycle of gate automation systems: installation, service, repair, and client consultation.

Key Responsibilities

- Installation: Install a variety of automated gate systems — slide, swing, and barrier operators — along with associated access control equipment (keypads, card readers, loop detectors, etc.)
- Repair & Maintenance: Diagnose, repair, and service residential and commercial gate automation systems and access control accessories
- Troubleshooting: Systematically troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, and low-voltage issues to keep gate operators running reliably
- Estimating & Consultation: Conduct on-site inspections for new installs and repairs, assess client needs, prepare detailed estimates, and provide expert technical guidance to customers and the sales team
- Documentation: Keep accurate records of work performed,



parts used, and time spent on every job
- Safety: Follow all company safety policies, industry standards, and local codes on every installation and repair

Qualifications

- Proven experience as an Automation Technician or in a similar role (e.g., Field Service Technician, Electrician)
- CGAT (Certified Gate Automation Technician) or a related certification (e.g., C.E.T.) highly desirable
- Strong knowledge of automated gate systems, components, and access control devices
- Proficiency in electrical wiring, diagnostics, and mechanical repair
- Excellent communication, customer service, and problem-solving skills
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
