Schedule: Monday to Friday with rotating Saturdays
Salary: Competitive wages based on experience Jim Gauthier Kia is growing again and we are looking for a motivated Level 3 Automotive Apprentice or Red Seal Licensed Automotive Technician to join our growing Service Department. We're looking for someone who takes pride in their work, enjoys learning, and is excited about the future of the automotive industry- including the opportunity to become an EV Certified Technician.
What You'll Do
✔ Perform vehicle maintenance and repairs under the guidance of licensed technicians
✔ Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and drivability concerns
✔ Complete inspections and maintenance according to manufacturer standards
✔ Utilize diagnostic equipment and service information effectively
✔ Maintain accurate records and documentation
✔ Keep work areas clean, organized, and safe
✔ Work collaboratively with advisors, parts staff, and fellow technicians
✔ Participate in ongoing manufacturer and in-house training, including Electric Vehicle certification opportunities
What We're Looking For
✔ Registered Level 3 Automotive Apprentice or Red Seal Licensed Automotive Technician
✔ Strong diagnostic and mechanical aptitude
✔ Valid Class 5 Driver's Licence with a clean driver's abstract
✔ Positive attitude with a strong work ethic and willingness to learn
✔ Ability to work independently and as part of a team
✔ Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
✔ Interest in Electric Vehicle technology and a desire to become EV Certified is considered a strong asset
Physical Requirements
✔ Lift up to 50 lbs without assistance
✔ Frequent standing, bending, kneeling, and lifting throughout the workday
✔ Ability to safely operate shop equipment and tools
