Bakery Production Team Member (Part-Time)

Halifax Bread is seeking a Bakery Production Team Member to join our production team. We are looking for a reliable individual with commercial bakery experience who enjoys producing quality baked goods in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

- Prepare and bake cookies, pastries, cakes, desserts, fillings, and other baked products according to recipes and production schedules.
- Assist with cake decorating and finishing products.
- Accurately measure and prepare ingredients according to recipes.
- Operate commercial bakery equipment, including industrial mixers, ovens, and depositor machines.
- Package finished products for retail and wholesale orders.
- Assist with bread production as required.
- Clean and sanitize equipment, utensils, and production areas following food safety and sanitation procedures.
- Follow company recipes, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), and food safety standards.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work workplace.
- Assist with general production duties and other tasks as assigned.
- Provide customer service in the retail area when required.

QualificationsRequired
- Minimum 2 years of experience working in a commercial or industrial bakery.
- Experience preparing cakes, pastries, desserts, cookies, breads, or other baked goods from scratch.
- Experience accurately measuring ingredients and following standardized recipes.
- Experience operating commercial bakery equipment, including ovens and mixers.
- Knowledge of food safety and safe food handling practices.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing consistent, high-quality products.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Reliable, punctual,



and able to work efficiently in a fast-paced production environment.

Important This position requires experience in a commercial or artisan bakery where products are prepared and baked from scratch using commercial bakery equipment.

Experience gained primarily in quick-service restaurants, coffee shops, or similar food service establishments (including Tim Hortons) is not considered equivalent to commercial bakery production experience for this position.

Preferred

- Experience operating industrial mixers and depositor equipment.
- Cake decorating experience.
- Previous customer service experience.

Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift up to 25 kg (55 lbs).
- Ability to stand, bend, and perform repetitive tasks for extended periods.
- Comfortable working in a warm bakery environment.

Schedule & Availability
- Early morning shifts.
- Availability on weekdays and weekends is required.
- Flexible availability to meet production needs.
- Applicants must be legally entitled to work in Canada.
