Job Summary

Poco Rit is looking for a passionate and skilled Barista to join our growing team. We are more than just a café—we're creating a space where specialty coffee, artisan bakery, brunch, and hospitality come together to provide a memorable experience for every guest.

We're looking for someone who genuinely loves coffee, takes pride in their craft, and thrives in a fast-paced environment. Latte art, consistency, and attention to detail are essential to this role.

Responsibilities

- Prepare espresso-based beverages, pour-overs, teas, and signature drinks to Poco Rit standards.
- Produce clean, consistent latte art on every milk-based beverage.
- Dial in espresso and monitor extraction quality throughout the day.
- Maintain consistency in drink recipes, presentation, and workflow during busy service.
- Provide warm, genuine hospitality and create a welcoming experience for every guest.
- Operate the POS system accurately and efficiently.
- Keep the coffee bar clean, organized, and fully stocked.
- Follow food safety and sanitation standards.
- Work closely with the bakery and kitchen teams to ensure smooth service.

Requirements





- Minimum 1 year of specialty coffee or barista experience preferred.
- Ability to consistently produce quality latte art (required).
- Understanding of espresso extraction, milk steaming, and grinder adjustments.
- Experience dialing in espresso and maintaining coffee quality throughout service.
- Strong customer service and communication skills.
- Ability to multitask and stay organized during busy periods.
- Positive attitude and willingness to learn.
- Able to work mornings, weekends, and holidays as needed.

Nice to Have

- Experience with manual brew methods (V60, Kalita, etc.).
- Experience in a specialty coffee workplace.
- Food Safe Level 1 certification.
