What you will be doing:
As the bartender of the Farside Bar you provide liquor service while ensuring a safe and comfortable space for Red Deer Polytechnic students, staff, and faculty. You will be responsible for carrying out the procedures necessary to maintain a high standard of compliance, customer service, cleanliness, and order in the bar.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Comply with all Class C liquor license and AGLC regulations and standards
- Enforce the AGLC Control Act
- Enforce all SARDP regulations and policies
- Maintain a high level of customer service
- Resolve customer issues and complaints in an efficient and respectful manner
- Open and close the bar - counts float at the beginning of the shift and do all till reporting of float at the end of the day
- Receives orders from suppliers and rotating stock as required in storage area
- Restocking and cleaning all serving areas, supplies, coolers, and condiments
- Report cash register, equipment issues to the Operations Director/supervisor
- Ensure consistency and accuracy processing all orders and entering into the POS system
- Ensure care and accuracy when handling cash and reports of all products sold
- Responsible for bar cleanliness including but not limited to, emptying garbage and recycling, cleaning tables and chairs, cleaning and sanitizing counters, etc.
- Work catering events as needed
What will the right person look like? The ideal candidate for this position is able to provide exceptional customer service at all times, is outgoing, and responsible. You are comfortable engaging with customers and can ensure the bar remains a protected space.
Your experience includes:
- Proserve
- Minimum of 1 years experience as a bartender
- Must be in good physical condition; able to move full kegs and beer cases
- Class 5 Drivers License
The details:
- Monday - Friday, weekends as needed
Pay: $17.00 per hour
Ability to commute/relocate
- Red Deer, AB: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)
Experience:
- Bartending: 1 year (preferred)
Licence/Certification:
- ProServe (required)
Work Location: In person
