Evolution Camp Services is urgently hiring a 1st Cook for an active wildfire fire camp near Cache Creek, BC.

- Tent accommodations - Must bring your own tent, pillow, bedding. Air mattress/mattress pad strongly suggested.
- Must be able to self drive or have transportation

Roles & Responsibilities

- Prepare and cook breakfast, lunch, dinner, and specialty meals for large groups in a high-volume camp environment.
- Ensure all meals are prepared according to recipes, portion standards, and food safety guidelines.
- Lead and coordinate kitchen staff, including Second Cooks and Kitchen Helpers, during food preparation and service.
- Assist with menu execution and daily meal planning as directed by the Kitchen Manager.
- Monitor food quality, presentation, and consistency to ensure exceptional service standards.
- Prepare meats, soups, sauces, vegetables, baked goods,



and other menu items as required.
- Ensure proper food storage, labeling, dating, and stock rotation using FIFO (First In, First Out) procedures.
- Monitor inventory levels and communicate supply needs to management.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary kitchen in accordance with Food Safe regulations and company policies.
- Ensure all equipment is used safely and report maintenance or repair requirements promptly.
- Assist with receiving, unloading, and storing food deliveries.
- Adhere to all workplace health, safety, and sanitation standards.
- Support kitchen operations during peak periods and adapt to changing camp requirements.
- Foster a positive team setting and provide guidance to junior kitchen staff.
