BYLAW ENFORCEMENT OFFICER Permanent, Full-Time (2 positions) Located on the traditional, ancestral and unceded lands of the Musqueam, Squamish, and Tsleil-Waututh Nations, West Vancouver is a vibrant community on the North Shore and home to parks, beaches, and to sports, recreation and arts amenities. Bylaw and Licensing Services Department is currently seeking two permanent full-time Bylaw Enforcement Officers to join our highly qualified team. Reporting to the Supervisor of Bylaw and Licensing Services, this is inspectional, regulatory, and investigative work related to the enforcement of municipal bylaws, including but not limited to Traffic and Parking, Animal Control, Parks, Solid Waste, Noise and Good Neighbour bylaws. The work involves extensive public relations contact, requiring action with tact and diplomacy.

The preferred candidate will display considerable use of sound judgement and action in the interpretation, explanation, and compliance of District bylaws. The more difficult problems and policy matters are referred to a superior who reviews work performance for conformance to established policies and procedures and the effectiveness of enforcement operations. The preferred candidate will possess post-secondary training in law enforcement, criminal justice or a related field; will have robust written and verbal communication skills,



sound experience and training conducting investigations and will have experience with attending adjudication proceedings.

Candidates with equivalent combinations of education, training and experience will be considered. Successful candidates will be required to provide an acceptable driver's abstract, a police information check, and copies of relevant credentials. Position Status

Union (WVMEA) – Permanent Full-Time Hours Of Work 40 hours per week (hours and days of work may vary) Starting Rate Of Pay $36.73 per hour. This position has a pay structure with five steps which increase annually.
