Carpenter - Lead Hand

Job Overview

Hickory Dickory Decks is seeking a carpenter for our expanding Kingston location. As Canada’s leader in low-maintenance decking, we offer the prospect to work on a variety of custom decks, gazebos, and other outdoor structures, using supplied plans and materials. Our projects primarily utilize advanced, low-maintenance materials. The position is seasonal, typically running from March through December each year.

Responsibilities

· Construct custom decks and outdoor structures according to provided specifications and materials set by Hickory Dickory Decks, while supervising one to three junior carpenters.

· Perform and coordinate all aspects of deck construction, including footings, framing, decking, railing, and roof assembly.

· Coordinate with building inspectors throughout the construction process.

· Maintain a clean and organized worksite at all times.

· Engage positively and professionally with homeowners.

· Mentor apprentices as part of the job duties, when applicable.

· Ensure the proper maintenance and display of the company-supplied trailer.

Qualifications

· Must be a licensed carpenter.

· 5–10 years of construction experience required, with specific experience in deck construction preferred.





· Provide personal tools; a wrapped Hickory Dickory Decks trailer will be supplied.

· Possession of a valid G or G2 driver’s license and access to personal transportation is essential.

· Strong communication skills for effective interaction with owners, customers, and team members.

· Demonstrated leadership abilities and a self-motivated work ethic.

· Ability to read construction plans and apply solid math skills.

· Commitment to high standards of workmanship and reliability.

Pay: $40.00-$55.00 per hour
