Health u0026 Happiness: Counselling and Wellness
Vaughan
Company Description
Health & Happiness: Counselling and Wellness is a growing private counselling clinic located in Vaughan, Ontario. Since opening in 2019, we have built a strong reputation for providing compassionate, practical, and evidence-based mental health care for children, teens, adults, couples, and families.
As our clinic continues to grow, we are excited to introduce a brand-new service: comprehensive psychological assessment and diagnosis. This is a significant milestone for our practice, and we are looking for the right psychologist to help shape and grow this service alongside us.
Our team includes clinicians with expertise in neurodiversity, including ADHD and autism, as well as play therapy, couples therapy, trauma, anxiety, depression, and relationship concerns. We believe that excellent client care starts with an excellent team culture.
One of the things that makes our clinic different is how we work together. We value collaboration over competition. When clinicians are not with clients, our doors are open (unless the hallway white noise machines are on!). Questions are encouraged, ideas are shared, and everyone is supported. We genuinely enjoy helping one another provide the best possible care.
We are also proud of our stability. Staff turnover has been exceptionally low because we work hard to create an environment where clinicians feel respected, supported, and trusted.
Role Description
We are seeking a Registered Clinical Psychologist to become the first psychologist to join our multidisciplinary team.
This is more than filling an existing position—it is an opportunity to build and lead a new service within an established and growing clinic.
Psychological assessment is a strategic priority for our organization, and we are committed to investing in its long-term success.
The successful candidate will provide comprehensive psychological assessments,
formal diagnoses within their scope of practice, feedback sessions, and treatment recommendations for clients across the lifespan, while also offering therapy where appropriate.
Appointments will include both in-person and virtual services, depending on client needs.
This is an independent contractor position with flexibility in scheduling. We anticipate demand will continue to grow, making this an excellent opportunity for a psychologist looking to establish and expand their assessment practice within a supportive clinical environment.
Responsibilities include:
- Conduct comprehensive psychological assessments and formulate diagnoses within your authorized scope of practice.
- Prepare high-quality assessment reports that are accurate, thorough, clinically sound, and completed in a timely manner.
- Communicate assessment findings clearly with clients, families, physicians, schools, and other professionals, where appropriate.
- Develop treatment recommendations and referrals following assessments.
- Collaborate closely with our team of psychotherapists and other clinicians.
- Maintain complete, accurate, and professional clinical documentation.
- Utilize JaneApp for scheduling and clinical records, along with Microsoft 365 applications for day-to-day practice.
- Help shape and expand psychological assessment services within the clinic.
Thisrolewould be an excellent fit for someone who:
- Is excited by the opportunity to build something new.
- Enjoys collaborating with colleagues rather than working in isolation.
- Values a supportive, team-oriented culture.
- Takes pride in producing exceptional assessment reports.
- Wants to contribute ideas that will help grow and improve services.
- Is looking for a long-term professional home rather than simply another contract.
Qualifications
- Registered (or eligible for registration) as a Clinical Psychologist with the College of Psychologists and Behaviour Analysts of Ontario (CPBAO).
- Demonstrated training and competency in conducting psychological assessments and making formal diagnoses within your authorized scope of practice.
- Proof of education, registration, and qualifications related to psychological assessment and diagnosis will be required.
- Experience preparing comprehensive psychological assessment reports.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Robust organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail.
- Commitment to maintaining accurate, complete, and timely clinical documentation.
- Comfortable using electronic health record systems (experience with JaneApp is an asset).
- Proficiency with Microsoft 365 applications including Outlook, Word, Teams, and OneDrive.
- Ability to work independently while contributing positively to a collaborative team environment.
- Willingness to provide both in-person and virtual appointments.
Assets
- Experience assessing ADHD, autism spectrum disorder, learning disorders, mood disorders, anxiety disorders, and other common mental health conditions.
- Experience working with children, adolescents, adults, or families.
- Additional language(s) spoken.
- Experience collaborating with physicians, schools, and community agencies.
If you are looking for an opportunity where your work will have a meaningful impact—not only on clients, but on future direction of a growing clinic—we want to meet you.
