For more information, please see www.dt-global.com The Role The Communications Advisor will provide key leadership and oversight of all communications-related functions under APLJ. This includes oversight of the communications team, liaising with the Australian High Commission’s public diplomacy-communications team, support to event management and implementation, and updating and delivery of APLJ’s internal Public Diplomacy and Communications manual as well as other relevant guidance to the APLJ team.

The Communications Advisor will serve as the key nodule of APLJ, integrating activity planning, preparation, and implementation with the Australian High Commission’s public diplomacy strategy. In this role, the Advisor will be responsible for managing the Communications Manager and Communications Coordinator, while ensuring that activity teams provide inputs to APLJ’s comms deliverables to the Australian High Commission.

The Communications Advisor will report directly to the Team Leader as part of the key strategic approach to whole-of-program strategy, planning, coordination, and adaptive delivery.

· Demonstrated experience developing and implementing communications strategies that support program objectives, strengthen stakeholder engagement, and enhance organisational visibility and reputation

· Exceptional ability to research, synthesize, and edit a broad range of communications products including media releases, talking points, social media content, success stories, news articles, and others

· Proven experience planning and delivering complex events, including high-level meetings, conference, and others which involve attention to governmental protocol requirements

· Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain productive relationships with clients, donors, government representatives, development partners, and others

· Proven ability to lead, supervise, mentor, and develop communications staff or multidisciplinary teams, fostering high performance, accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement

· Experience with international development, law and justice programming, governance, or other similar work, particular work funded by DFAT or other international donors

· Experience providing strategic communications advice to senior leaders/principals

· Skills and experience engaging diverse stakeholders across government, civil society, private sector, and development organisations





· Program management skills, including the ability to manage multiple priorities, develop and monitor stakeholder registers, and lead high-quality delivery of outputs in a quick-paced environment
