Black Bear Builders is looking for a reliable, hardworking Construction Helper to join our crew in Banff, AB. In this role, you will assist skilled tradespeople (carpenters, concrete/landscaping crews) on site, handle material staging, and ensure job sites operate safely and efficiently.

This is a physical, hands-on role ideal for someone with a strong work ethic who takes pride in quality work and is looking to build experience in the construction industry.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

- Load, unload, and transport construction materials, tools, and equipment around job sites.
- Assist carpenters, masons, and other tradespeople with framing, forming, demolition, and general site work.
- Operate basic power tools, hand tools, and equipment safely (e.g., drills, grinders, compaction equipment).
- Clean and prepare job sites by removing debris, trash, and hazards to maintain a secure work environment.
- Mix, pour, and spread materials such as concrete, mortar, or gravel as required.
- Follow all Occupational Health & Safety (OH&S;) guidelines and company safety protocols.

Requirements & Qualifications

- Experience: Previous construction, landscaping, or physical labor experience is preferred, but willing to train the right candidate.




- Education: No formal education required; high school diploma is an asset.
- Licensing: Valid Driver’s Licence (preferred).
- Location: Must be able to reliably commute to or relocate to Banff, AB before starting work.

Physical Requirements & Working Conditions

- Physically demanding work, including heavy lifting (50+ lbs), bending, crouching, and standing for long periods.
- Working outdoors in varied mountain weather conditions.
- Must provide basic Personal Protective Equipment (PPE):
- CSA-approved steel-toed safety boots
- Construction clothes suitable for weather conditions (Hard hat, high-vis vests, gloves, and safety glasses provided as needed).

Pay & Benefits

- Salary: $22.00 – $27.00 / hour (commensurate with experience)
- Schedule: Full-time, Permanent (Monday to Friday, standard daytime hours)
