Position Overview

J.J. McGuire is seeking an experienced Construction Project Manager to join our growing team in Oshawa. This is a full-time, on-site position responsible for leading construction projects from pre-construction through closeout while ensuring projects are delivered safely, on schedule, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.

Key Responsibilities • Manage all aspects of construction projects from planning and procurement through completion and closeout.

- Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, forecasts, and work plans.
- Review project plans and specifications to identify opportunities, risks, and constructability concerns.
- Prepare scopes of work, tender packages, and subcontract agreements.
- Lead bid reviews and subcontractor award processes.
- Coordinate project activities with site staff, consultants, owners, and trade partners.
- Facilitate project meetings and provide regular status updates.
- Manage change orders, RFIs, shop drawings, project documentation, and contract administration.
- Monitor labour, material, equipment, and subcontractor costs while maintaining project profitability.




- Review site progress and assist with sequencing, quality control, safety compliance, and problem resolution.
- Prepare monthly progress draws and approve subcontractor progress claims.
- Support risk management, issue resolution, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Qualifications • 5+ years of experience in Construction Project Management, preferably in I.C.I. construction.

- Proven experience managing multiple projects from start to finish.
- Strong knowledge of budgeting, forecasting, cost control, and change management.
- Experience with contract administration, procurement, and subcontractor management.
- Understanding of Ontario building codes, construction practices, health and safety regulations, and quality control standards.
- Post-secondary education in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Architecture, or a related discipline is preferred.
- Strong communication, leadership, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, project scheduling software, and construction management platforms.
