Our client, an established Edmonton known for being at the forefront of educational design, are looking for an experienced Contract Administrator to join their growing team. This is a multidiscipline firm that pride themselves on their collaborative approach, and endeavor to be culturally aware and open to recent ideas on every project they work on. In addition to a strong emphasis on educational design, other project types include healthcare, seniors housing, institutional, First Nations and civic and community centres.
*this is a hybrid work model, 3 days a week in office
Responsibilities:
- Administer construction contracts from tender through project close-out.
- Conduct site visits and field reviews to monitor construction progress, quality, and compliance with contract documents.
- Review and process RFIs, shop drawings, submittals, change orders, and payment applications.
- Coordinate with clients, contractors, consultants, and internal project teams throughout construction.
- Prepare site reports, meeting minutes, deficiency lists, and other contract administration documentation.
- Resolve construction-related issues and support project delivery in accordance with design intent, budget, schedule, and applicable codes.
- Maintain accurate project records and oversee project close-out, including deficiency management and warranty reviews.
Qualifications:
- Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited Architecture or Technical program, CCCA designation is considered a strong asset.
- Experience in Contract Administration within an architectural, engineering, or construction environment.
- Institutional, recreational and/ or commercial project experience is required.
- Strong understanding of construction drawings, specifications, contract documents, and construction methodologies.
- Knowledge of CCDC contracts, building codes, and construction administration processes.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and conflict-resolution skills.
The successful candidate will receive a base salary $80K - $110K (dependent on experience) + bonus, benefits and 3 weeks vacation + the week off over Christmas.
