Job Opportunity

Position title: Cultural Tourism Project Development Leader

Duration: 2-Year Contract full-time with possibility of extension

Field of Activities

Under the authority of the Mohawk Council of Kanesatake and the direct supervision of the Manager of the Business and Economic Development Dept., the candidate's main mandate is to develop the cultural tourism sector in the Laurentian region and to understand how it can be positioned.

REQUIREMENTS:

1.Bachelor's degree in administration with a marketing or tourism profile or a DEC in administration with a tourism option and three years of experience in similar functions.

2.Knowledge of the First Nations tourism industry as well as the tourism industry in the Kanesatake region.

3.Knowledge related to market analysis, business plans, customer analysis, knowledge of distribution networks, advertising, and mass media.

4.Cultural, historical, and economic knowledge of the Kanesatake community and the region.

5.Awareness of Economic reconciliation movement and Land Reclamation through economic activities/partnerships

6.Experience in facilitating information sessions.

7.Knowledge of computer tools such as the Internet, e-mail, and application software such as Word, Excel, etc.

8.Bilingualism (English and French spoken and one of these languages in writing).

Experience or willingness to learn web writing and community facilitation.
2. Team spirit, with good interpersonal communication skills.
3. Respect, confidentiality, tact, diplomacy and ethics.
4. Be autonomous and have a sense of work organization.
5. Have a valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle.

Please note:

1. Must be available for occasional travel inside and outside of Quebec
2. Flexible schedule may include working evenings and weekends.

Salary: $32.57/hr Advantages: Advantageous pension, Group Insurance.

Schedule: 35 hours per week, Monday to Friday.

Work Location: Economic Development Office located at 681D Ste-Philomene, Kanesatake, QC J0N 1E0

Start Date: As soon as possible

Probation Period: The successful candidate will be subjected to a six (6) month probation period.
