Responsibilities
- Assist dentists during a variety of treatment procedures, including general dentistry and orthodontics, ensuring patient comfort and safety.
- Prepare treatment rooms with necessary instruments, materials, and equipment, maintaining strict sterilization protocols.
- Manage patient records efficiently using dental software such as Dentrix and Epic, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality.
- Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays), adhering to safety standards to ensure optimal image quality.
- Provide patient education on oral health care, post-treatment instructions, and preventive practices.
- Support front desk operations by greeting patients, scheduling appointments, and managing patient flow as a dental receptionist when needed.
- Assist with pediatric dentistry procedures by creating a friendly environment that eases patient anxiety.
- Support clinical operations with CAD (Computer-Aided Design) tools for orthodontic appliances or restorations when applicable.
- Maintain inventory of dental supplies and ensure all equipment is functioning correctly for daily use.
Experience
- Proven experience as a Dental Assistant Level II or similar role in a busy dental practice.
- Strong knowledge of dental assisting procedures, including radiography, sterilization, and chairside support.
- Familiarity with dental management software such as Dentrix and Epic for scheduling, billing, and record keeping.
- Experience assisting with orthodontic treatments and pediatric dentistry is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of medical terminology relevant to dentistry to accurately document procedures and communicate effectively with team members.
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining attention to detail in all aspects of patient care.
