Here's an opportunity full of purpose and connection, working in non-profit health communications and digital marketing. In this role, you'll make a difference by raising awareness and communicating with an engaged rare disease audience, the Canadian Huntington disease community (compassion is highly valued). You'll have the chance to try out your ideas and have ownership over major projects, all while being part of a small, dedicated and close-knit team with flexible work arrangements.
Please note: For this role, working a minimum of one day a week (usually Wednesdays) onsite at our national office at 375 Hagey Blvd, Waterloo, ON for a full workday is required. Occasional attendance at in-person, on-site events, conferences, meetings, and trade shows may be required.
Key Accountabilities: Format digital communications, including e-blasts
Support the management of all social media platforms by planning, developing, and evaluating content (including video) and responding to community comments and messages
Support the maintenance of the HSC website and intranet, including page design, updates and content management
Develop marketing materials for events, fundraising, research, support services, chapter, advocacy and educational initiatives
Design and coordinate the production and distribution of organizational collateral, including printed materials
Help execute awareness and fundraising campaigns
Contribute to the development and implementation of HSC branding initiatives
Assist with the development of HSC’s annual marketing and communications plan, budget and work plan Key competencies Experience with social media content development and management
Basic design and visual communication skills
Ability to manage multiple deadlines and competing priorities
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Excellent attention to detail Specific Requirements Experience in a digital marketing or social media role (internships,
co-op positions, freelance hours and volunteer roles will be considered)
Post-secondary education in marketing, communications, design, or a related field
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Applications
Experience with Canva, video editing, and other design tools
Experience maintaining and updating websites using WordPress and Elementor
Experience managing social media channels including Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, YouTube, and TikTok Why you'll love working at HSC
