Men In Trucks Moving Inc. is hiring a full-time Dispatcher / Operations Coordinator in Ottawa. This is a phone-first job, not a desk-and-email job. If you have worked in moving, delivery or trucking and you like being the person who keeps the day running, read on.
We have been moving Ottawa families and businesses since 2010. We run residential, commercial, long-distance and white-glove delivery work out of our 10,000 sq ft warehouse. The dispatcher is the centre of all of it.
What you will be doing
- Answer incoming customer calls, quote jobs and book them into the schedule
- Call customers back to confirm dates, addresses, access details and arrival windows
- Build and adjust the daily and weekly schedule for crews and trucks
- Get crews out the door on time - confirm every truck leaves loaded with the right blankets, wrap, dollies, straps, tools and paperwork
- Stay in phone contact with crews through the day and solve problems as they come up: delays, access issues, extra stops, changes on site
- Run supplies out to crews on the road when a job needs more materials
- Keep the job board and daily records up to date
- Very little email - this role is phone, radio and in-person
What we are looking for
- Experience in moving, delivery, courier, trucking or a similar dispatch or scheduling role. This is required.
- Valid Ontario Class G licence and your own reliable vehicle for supply runs
- Strong phone manner - you will be the first voice customers hear
- Calm under pressure. Plans change all day and you keep the schedule moving.
- Organized enough to hold a full day of jobs in your head and on paper
- Good working knowledge of Ottawa streets and neighbourhoods
- Available Monday to Saturday with early starts around 6:30 to 7:00 AM
- Legally entitled to work in Canada
Nice to have
- Hands-on moving experience - knowing what a crew actually needs makes you better at this job
- Bilingual English/French
- Experience with scheduling or dispatch software

- $20 to $26 per hour depending on experience
