Become a part of JHS Ottawa’s team as a Full-Time Evenings Supportive Housing Worker. This role offers the chance to support clients in a caring setting while ensuring their safety and well-being. The successful candidate will work at the Carruthers Enhanced Supportive Housing Program, dedicating efforts to helping individuals from diverse backgrounds.
Two years of experience with the homeless population and knowledge of harm reduction will be essential in this role. You will foster community connections while providing assistance with life skills and engaging in ongoing professional development. Key Responsibilities:
- Create a secure and inviting atmosphere for residents
- Prepare daily meals for the support group
- Enforce behavioral contracts and care plans
- Collaborate with caseworkers for ongoing updates
- Support residents in a Life Skill Building Program Requirements:
- Degree or diploma in Social Services or similar
- Minimum two years of experience in housing settings
- Background in harm reduction practices
- Experience working in interdisciplinary teams
